Short Biography
Angela Repanovici is Professor and PhD Supervisor in Engineering and Management at Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania, where she is also a member of the research center Advanced Mechatronic Systems for Industry and Medicine. Her academic background includes two doctoral degrees: one in Mechanical Engineering (1999) and a second in Economic Sciences – Marketing, in cotutelle with Information and Communication Sciences (2009). As stated in her CV, her second thesis focused on “strategies for promoting and increasing the visibility of scientific production through digital repositories”.
She has an extensive publication record, including over 68 ISI‑indexed journal articles (2014–2024), numerous books and book chapters, and editorial roles in international volumes. Her research spans scientometrics, information literacy, digital repositories, engineering education, and applications of mechatronics in health and industry. According to her CV, she has coordinated 16 national and international research grants and participated in multiple European projects dedicated to information literacy, digital skills, and innovation.
Professor Repanovici is active in several professional associations, including ABR, AGIR, EAHIL, ARoTMM, and the UNESCO Information Literacy Directory, where she has represented Romania since 2010. She also serves as Editor‑in‑Chief of the Romanian Journal of Library and Information Science and reviewer for ISI journals such as QQML Journal and The Electronic Library.
She has organized major international events, including the Summit of the Book (2017) and the ICISIL Conference (2021), and has contributed to the development of information literacy education in Romania through workshops, conferences, and academic programs.
