Short Biography
Lucian-Ionel CIOCA is a full professor at the "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu, a position he acquired in 2007. Since 2010, he has been a PhD supervisor in Engineering and Management.
His research focuses on management, human resources management, production systems engineering, ergonomics, circular economy, sustainability, occupational safety, and health management.
The results of his research have been published in prestigious journals, including: Journal of Innovation & Knowledge (ISSN: 2444-569X); Waste Management (ISSN: 1879-2456); Journal of Environmental Management (ISSN: 1095-8630); Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management (ISSN:1535-3966), etc.
He is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal INMATEH - Agricultural Engineering (ISSN 2068 – 4215), indexed in Web of Science and Scopus.
He is also a guest editor of several journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, including: Advances in Materials Science and Engineering (ISSN 1687-8434), Frontiers in Psychology (ISSN: 1664-1078), Frontiers in Environmental Science (eISSN 2296-665X), Processes (ISSN 2227-9717), Sustainability (ISSN 2071-1050), Energies (ISSN 1996-1073) and Safety (ISSN 2313-576X).

In 2005, for his research, he was awarded the title of EUR ING by the European Federation of National Associations of Engineers (FEANI); he has received several Doctor Honoris Causa titles; and in 2025, he received the Hermann Oberth Award from the Academy of Romanian Scientists.
He is a member or managing partner in several international HORIZON projects.
He is a member of several professional associations, including VDI – Association of German Engineers.
